Welcome To Unnati Trust

Mr. Vijaykumar Sasane and Mrs. Bharti Sasane, a God-fearing couple from Pune, Maharashtra, prayerfully planted the seed for what would become Unnati Trust. Mr. Vijaykumar Sasane, a Commerce Graduate, had a diverse career, working with organizations such as Christi Sahitya Prasarak, World Vision, and St. Crispin’s Home. He underwent leadership training at the Haggai Institute in Pune and the USA and played a key role in starting Haggai Institute Seminars in Marathi. These seminars focused on Biblical Basis for Evangelism and Christian Family Life, and were well-received, impacting many leaders.

Recognizing the need for broader societal transformation, Mr. Sasane and his colleagues felt that the teachings from the Haggai seminars could benefit various areas of society. This realization led to the idea of creating a platform to address all the training needs of the Church.

In 1998, during a return journey from Nagpur to Chikhali, Mr Sasane his team experienced a unique burden and was called to conduct special training for the transformation of the Church in Maharashtra, which they named “Sold Out for Maharashtra.”

Their mission was to find and implement best practices from around the world that could bring revival to the church and to create an organization that would facilitate the transformation of Maharashtra without taking ownership of the available resources.

This vision led to the establishment of Unnati Trust, with the initial goal of providing a framework of resource pillars for the transformation of the Body of Christ in Maharashtra State and facilitating various trainings for the edification of the church. Despite getting busy with their regular work, the burden for Maharashtra never faded, and in October 2010, Mr Vijay Kumar Sasane decided on the name “Unnati Trust” and prepared the Memorandum for submission to the Charity Commissioner of Pune for registration.

As President, he took the lead in presenting Unnati Trust to the Charity Commissioner and handling all the initial work. This resulted in the registration of Unnati Trust with registration number E 5654-Pune dated 19.01.2011.

A young Pastor Klepa Awale from Mumbai, shared a similar calling and decided to fully join Unnati in 2011. Mr. Vijaykumar Sasane took him under his wing and provided spiritual mentorship. Now, Pastor Klepa Awale and Mrs. Preeti Klepa Awale are continuing with the same vision for the people of Maharashtra under the guidance of Pr. Vijaykumar Sasane and Bharti Sasane.
